Cyprus Airports Break Passenger Records
Larnaca and Paphos airports have reached a new milestone, with over 12 million travelers passing through their gates since the beginning of the year.
"This remarkable achievement follows a period of significant challenges and transformations in the tourism and aviation sectors, driven by the pandemic and various geopolitical events," said Hermes Airports, the operator of both airports, in a statement.
The milestone of 12 million passengers underscores Cyprus's appeal as a destination and the resilience of its tourism industry.
Hermes Airports emphasized that from the very beginning, they adopted a systematic and targeted approach to enhance Cyprus’s transport accessibility, which has delivered impressive results. The sustainable growth in air connectivity has been achieved by attracting new airlines, expanding the network of destinations, and significantly increasing passenger traffic.
"Today, Cyprus’s air connectivity has not only improved dramatically but has also reached a solid and highly competitive level," the operator added.
