More than 4 kilograms of cannabis seized at Larnaca Airport

Anti-Narcotics Service officers, in cooperation with the Customs Department of the Republic of Cyprus, discovered a suspicious package containing a large shipment of drugs at Larnaca Airport.
According to authorities, the discovery was made last week as part of intensified checks aimed at identifying and preventing the importation of prohibited substances into the country.
During a customs inspection, it was revealed that the package contained cannabis with a total gross weight of 4 kilograms and 434 grams.
The narcotic substance was confiscated and sent for further laboratory analysis. Anti-Narcotics Service officers are currently continuing their investigation to identify the senders and recipients of the shipment, as well as possible links to organized supply channels.
Authorities emphasize that checks at airports and points of entry into Cyprus are continuing in an intensified mode.
