New maximum prices for sunbeds and umbrellas approved in Ayia Napa

The Mayor of Ayia Napa and Chairman of the Beaches Committee, Christos Zanettos, announced that the maximum rental price for beach equipment will be set at €3.50 per sunbed and €3.00 per umbrella.
Speaking on ANT1 television, he noted that the current tariffs had not been revised for about 20 years, emphasizing that these are ceiling prices rather than mandatory rates.
According to him, each municipality has the right to set rental prices independently. Thus, in one city a sunbed may cost €2.50, while in another it may cost €3.50, depending on decisions by local authorities.
The final decision on prices in Ayia Napa will be taken by the municipal council. Zanettos stated that he would recommend a price of €3.50, adding that more than €2 million has been reinvested in beach infrastructure over the past three years.
