Ammunition found at Larnaca Hospital: police investigate the incident

Police are investigating an unusual and troubling incident that occurred on Wednesday, 4 February, at Larnaca General Hospital. A batch of ammunition was discovered in one of the hospital’s toilets.
According to reports, hospital staff alerted the police after cartridges were found inside the restroom. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene seized 20 live rounds of various calibres.
All the discovered ammunition has been sent for forensic examination. In particular, specialists will check whether it is possible to identify DNA traces that could help establish the identity of the person who left the cartridges in a public place.
Police stress that the very fact of finding ammunition inside a hospital building raises serious concerns and requires a thorough investigation. The circumstances under which the cartridges ended up in the hospital toilet remain unknown at this time.
