2026 Budget Includes Funds for Paphos Hospitals Executive Director
At yesterday's meeting of the Cyprus Parliamentary Committee on Health, the 2026 budget for the State Health Services Organisation (SHSO) was discussed. Paphos MP for the Democratic Party (DIKO), Chrysanthos Savvides, expressed satisfaction that the draft budget includes funding for hiring a new Executive Director for the hospitals in the Paphos district.
Savvides emphasized that the appointment of an Executive Director should increase administrative efficiency and ensure better management and supervision practices in the region's medical facilities. According to him, this creates the prerequisites for modernizing infrastructure and improving the quality of medical services in Cyprus.
The MP also noted that the decision is an important step toward the administrative autonomy of the Paphos medical network, which has long been requested by local authorities and the public. Savvides stated that the process of autonomy has begun to take concrete shape thanks to the funds provided in the budget.
In conclusion, he noted the commitment to continuing efforts to create a modern, efficient, and high-quality public healthcare system that meets the needs of Paphos residents.
