Large Fireworks Stash Seized in Famagusta
The police have confiscated a significant quantity of fireworks, as authorities issue a warning to the public ahead of the upcoming Easter holidays. The fireworks were discovered during a search prompted by a tip-off, as part of an ongoing campaign to combat the illegal use and sale of pyrotechnic products.
A 30-year-old man’s home was searched, where two cardboard boxes were found containing a total of 112 fireworks. The man was questioned, formally charged in writing, and released while the investigation continues. The case is being handled by the Paralimni Police Station.
The police have reminded the public that storing and using fireworks is not only dangerous but also illegal. Citizens are urged to avoid purchasing or using fireworks during the upcoming Easter celebrations.
