During the past weekend in Greece, a large anti-war rally was held. Participants of the march protested near the Ministry of National Defense against the military plans of the USA, NATO, and the EU.

As reported by RIA Novosti, the event was held as part of the Day of National Anti-Imperialist Actions. The Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) called for mass participation in the Marathon of Peace to demonstrate disagreement with military actions and to oppose Greece's involvement in them. One of the slogans of the activists was "Give money for healthcare and education, not for NATO headquarters."
