9 million euros are being invested in the historical reconstruction of Paphos
In a historic reconstruction effort, Paphos authorities are investing over 9 million euros in restoration and reconstruction projects for the city and its surroundings. The corresponding agreement between the Municipality of Paphos and the contracting company was signed on Thursday.
The contract entails a comprehensive reconstruction and restoration project named the 'Center for Historical Documentation of the City and Its Surroundings.'
The planned projects will be implemented over the next 15 months and will include the reconstruction of an area covering more than 18,000 square meters. Additionally, there will be maintenance, restoration, and conversion of the former police station.
Furthermore, a 'complete regeneration' of the city's shopping center and the areas around the town hall will take place.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mayor Fedonos Fedonas highlighted previous successful projects in the city, including the reconstruction of Kennedy Square, the restoration of the town hall square and the adjacent area, as well as the restoration of the 'Markideio' Theater and 'Hana Ibrahim,' which are now fully operational.
