Gun and Over 350 Firecrackers Seized in Nicosia House Raid
On Holy Monday, police seized a handgun and more than 350 firecrackers during a search of a home in Nicosia. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation.
According to a police statement, one individual was arrested at the scene to assist with the inquiry. The firearm will undergo ballistic and forensic testing to determine whether it has been linked to any previous criminal activity.
The discovery of such a large number of firecrackers has raised concerns, particularly with Easter festivities around the corner — a time when illegal use of fireworks tends to increase.
Authorities have not released further details about the suspect or the exact location of the search, citing the sensitivity of the investigation. The case remains open.
