The final ceremony of the "IDEODROMIO" competition for schoolchildren was held in Larnaca
The Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, in collaboration with the CEDAR Entrepreneurship Center and with the support of UCLan Cyprus University, KPMG Cyprus, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, the Youth Organization of Cyprus, and other organizations, held the final conference and awards ceremony for the 12th "IDEODROMIO" competition on March 19, 2026, at the university premises in Larnaca. The event is addressed to middle school students in Cyprus.
More than 200 schoolchildren presented business and social projects, participated in discussions with students and entrepreneurs, and received feedback from the jury. Speakers at the conference included Dr. Fanos Tekelas, Director of the CEDAR Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Elena Hadjikakou, representative of the Pedagogical Institute, Professor Louka Glyptis, Dean of the School of Management and Business, and Pankratios Vanezis, head of the KPMG Cyprus entrepreneurship team.
According to the competition results, in the "Innovative Business Idea" category, the teams "Green Loop" and "Motosense" from Nicosia gymnasiums won. In the "Social and Environmental Idea" category, "ReGreen Stories," "Red Block," and "Μία Σπίθα Γνώσης" (TESEK Larnaca team) distinguished themselves. In the "Economically Viable Idea" category, awards went to "Float and Flow" and "RePaper". The "Green Loop" team scored the highest number of points and won the right to an educational trip abroad along with an accompanying teacher.
The organizers noted that the competition promotes the development of creative thinking, sustainable and social entrepreneurial activity among students in Cyprus.
