In Larnaca, a student hit a teacher: police launch investigation
Larnaca police are investigating an incident that occurred at one of the city’s secondary schools, where a student allegedly attacked a teacher during the school day.
According to police, the female teacher filed an official complaint, stating that a 12.5-year-old student punched her in the stomach after she reprimanded him during a lesson.
Larnaca police spokesperson Spiros Christostomou said the case is under investigation and that law enforcement authorities are working together with the Ministry of Education and social services.
The incident has raised concern among parents. The head of the Larnaca Parents’ Association, Kostas Costa, condemned what happened, calling it an alarming signal, and called for a full investigation, accountability measures, and prevention of aggressive behavior among students in schools.
The investigation is ongoing.
