In Larnaca, 43 traffic reports issued during a night police raid, 13 for drunk driving
The Traffic Police of Larnaca and the Special Motorcycle Unit of the Headquarters conducted an inspection from 20:00 yesterday until 03:00 today in Larnaca. During the operation, 43 traffic citations were issued for various violations, 13 of which were for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Three motorcycles and one car were detained for further checks, according to the police press office.
The press release noted that the operation is part of police efforts to reduce fatal and serious road accidents, as well as to promote road awareness and increase the sense of public safety.
According to the police, targeted traffic inspections continue daily, around the clock, across Cyprus’s road network to prevent fatal and serious collisions and to strengthen discipline on the roads.
