Four luxury cars burned in Limassol

Limassol police are investigating the arson of four parked luxury vehicles in the Mouttagiaka area. The report of the fire was received last night at about 23:46, when flames broke out in a private open parking lot.
According to the police, four cars were completely destroyed; they belonged to a 40-year-old man (two vehicles), as well as 38-year-old and 21-year-old owners. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service units, but the vehicles were burned out. Preliminary findings of the Limassol Crime Investigation Department indicate a targeted criminal act.
As the publication уточняет, the destroyed vehicles were premium-segment cars with a total value of hundreds of thousands of euros and are linked to a well-known Limassol businessman who was a close associate of Stavros Dimostenous, murdered last month.
Investigators have a witness statement and CCTV footage showing an unknown person approaching the parking area on foot and dousing the cars with a flammable liquid. The owners are expected to give detailed statements. Police are also considering that the perpetrators may have been trying to send a warning to the owner. Alert has been declared again in Limassol; the investigation continues.
