Fire breaks out at Tsirios Gymnasium in Limassol — black smoke covers the highway
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, during the day in Limassol near the Tsirios Gymnasium building, a fire broke out, causing black smoke to spread over the nearby highway. Firefighting units responded promptly and began extinguishing the blaze.
The volunteer group “ATLAS” published photos from the scene showing a burned pallet and car tires; in their post, the team notes that such findings may indicate intentional action, with involvement still being considered at the level of assumptions.
According to sources, final conclusions about the cause of the fire will be made after the extinguishing is completed and an official investigation is conducted. Earlier reports noted that dense black smoke “covered” the highway in the area, reducing visibility on the road.
For Limassol residents and drivers, the information about this incident is important: the presence of smoke over the highway may affect driving conditions near the scene; if necessary, follow the instructions of emergency services and information from official channels.
