Limassol police have dismantled a criminal group of Georgian citizens who, according to the investigation, committed burglaries in various areas of the city, including Panthea, Agios Athanasios, and Potamos Germasogeia.

Three people were detained during an operation conducted the day before. During the search, specialized burglary tools were found, as well as dozens of stolen items, including jewelry and watches.

According to Lefteris Kyriakou, Assistant Director of Limassol Police, the perpetrators used electronic cameras and other technical means for remote surveillance of apartments to determine when residents were away.

According to police, the suspects were able to open even armored doors without leaving visible signs of a break-in, using special tools and techniques. In some cases, they removed locks to enter the apartments.

During a search of the suspects' apartment, items and equipment were found that investigators believe could be linked to at least ten recent burglaries.

Additionally, forged identity cards, not issued in Cyprus, were found on the detainees. Authorities plan to cooperate with Interpol and Europol to establish the authenticity of the documents and the origin of the suspects.

Police also appealed to residents who may have been victims of burglaries to help identify the recovered items to link them to specific crimes.

According to the investigation, the group's activities lasted for approximately 10–15 days and were of an organized nature.
