A 20-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Limassol for Extortion After Traffic Accident Involving Courier

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Limassol in connection with a case of extortion and theft. The incident occurred on the evening of February 8 in the Ypsonas area.
According to police, at around 19:30 a 24-year-old courier riding a motorcycle collided with another motorcyclist under circumstances that are still being investigated. After the crash, the second rider allegedly attacked the courier and demanded money from him, claiming it was compensation for damage to his vehicle.
Shortly afterwards, other individuals arrived at the scene who, according to investigators, also took part in the assault and demanded that the victim hand over money to the motorcyclist.
The investigation is being conducted by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department in cooperation with the traffic police.
