Another Food Delivery Courier Robbed in Limassol: €500 Stolen
Limassol has witnessed yet another robbery targeting a food delivery courier. This time, the thief made off with a bag containing €500 in cash.
According to a statement from the police, the robbery occurred on Tuesday evening. The victim reported that while riding his motorcycle in the Ayia Fyla area, he was approached by a man on another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. As they passed, the thief grabbed the courier's bag and sped off.
The bag was later recovered in the Potamos Germasogeia suburb, located in the eastern part of the city. However, only the courier's personal documents were found inside; the cash was missing. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Over the past few months, crimes against delivery couriers have increased significantly in Cyprus, particularly in Limassol. Unlike previous cases, the courier in this robbery was not physically harmed. In earlier incidents, victims were assaulted during the attacks.
The latest violent attack on a courier occurred just this Monday in Limassol. Authorities suspect that many of these crimes may be racially motivated.
