60,000 smart water meters installed in Limassol

The Limassol Water Board (ΕΟΑ Λεμεσού) reported that as of today, 60,000 water meters have already been received and connected to the system in various districts of Limassol and its suburbs.
The project is being implemented in phases and involves replacing all conventional water meters with modern "smart" meters. The project is taking place in several districts of Limassol, as well as in the municipalities of Polemidia and Amathunta, and neighboring settlements including Fasoula, Palodia, and Matikoloni.
As part of the Limassol Smart Water Network – Living Lab project, a modern water supply system is being created in the city, which allows:
- more accurate measurement of water consumption,
- faster detection of leaks,
- more efficient management of water resources for residents and services.
The project is funded under the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan with the support of the European Union (Next Generation EU).
Work will continue until all traditional water meters in the specified areas are fully replaced.
