A Children’s Carnival Parade Is Taking Place In Limassol

Today, on Sunday, children have become the main heroes of the carnival celebrations in Limassol — the city is hosting the traditional children’s carnival parade along the seafront.

The procession will start at 11:30 from the traffic lights near the Municipal Garden and will proceed towards the Old Port. Leading the column will be the children’s drumming group Batukinio, the “Queen of Passion and Madness” of the Limassol Carnival, as well as the majorettes of the Cyprus Tour Guides Association and the Limassol majorettes.

At 16:30, the traditional performance of the kantadores will take place at “Perama.” During the event, songs will be performed by the Georgalletou group — in honor of its founder, the late Georgios Georgalletou. The municipality will also recognize the contribution of veteran members of the kantadores movement — Lollos and Periklis Georgalletou.

The festive program will continue in the evening. At 20:30, a disco party featuring the Time Surfers Party Band will be held at the “Charoupomylos Lanitis” complex. To attend the concert, free tickets must be obtained in advance on the website ticketmaster.cy.
