The Limassol Carnival will reach its climax on Sunday with a massive parade and a vibrant farewell celebration. According to Skevi Antoniadou, Limassol Municipality's events coordinator, thousands of carnival groups and guests from all over Cyprus will fill the city to take part in the main events of the holiday.

The Grand Carnival Parade will begin at 13:00 on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, featuring 115 groups.

Following tradition, the parade will be opened by the serenaders (kantadoroi) — a unique element of the Limassol Carnival. They will be followed by the Batukinio drummers, majorettes, the municipal brass band, the Mayor with the City Council, and of course, the Queen of Passion and Madness with her entourage.

This year, the municipality has once again prepared satirical floats dedicated to politics and everyday issues, including the traffic situation.

According to Antoniadou, the carnival brings significant economic benefits to the city. Preparations begin as early as November, involving costume designers, seamstresses, makeup artists, performers, and street vendors. During this period, Limassol's hotels are fully booked.

The municipality reminds attendees that the use of foam and aerosol sprays is prohibited. Guests are asked to stick to streamers and confetti.

The festivities will conclude on Sunday at 21:00 at the Old Port Square. The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular show featuring 700 drones creating light figures in the sky.

During the party, well-known DJs will perform, and a best mask competition will be held, with prizes for the three most original costumes.

The municipality also highlighted the contribution of city services, which work until the dawn of Clean Monday after the parade to restore order to Limassol.

Organizers invite all residents and visitors of the island to join the celebration and enjoy the finale of one of the most vibrant events of the year in Cyprus.
