Republic of Cyprus Investigates Disappearance of 13.5 kg of Explosives from Training Range
The General Staff of the National Guard of Cyprus (RMMO) has completed an internal investigation into the disappearance of explosives and handed the materials over to Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas.
The case concerns 13.5 kilograms of TNT-type explosives that disappeared on January 29 from the Vuda training range in Larnaca. Following the incident, the General Staff launched an official inquiry.
The investigation identified certain deficiencies and areas of responsibility. The Ministry of Defense noted that the completion of the internal review was an important step for the objective and documented recording of the events.
Meanwhile, the police investigation into the disappearance of the explosives remains ongoing.
