Driver Rescued After Falling Off Cliff in Limassol
A truck driver was rescued in Limassol after his vehicle plunged off an eight-meter cliff. At the time of the incident, the truck was transporting another vehicle.
According to Andreas Kettis, a spokesperson for the Fire Service, emergency services received the distress call at 1:56 PM yesterday. The incident took place on the road in Kalo Chorio, near the Agios Mamas Bridge in the Limassol area, when the car transporter fell into a ravine about eight meters deep.
A rescue team and fire truck were quickly dispatched to the scene to manage the aftermath of the crash.
The 35-year-old driver was safely extracted using specialized rescue equipment and was then handed over to paramedics for transportation to the hospital. Fortunately, according to the police, his condition is not life-threatening.
At the time of the accident, another private vehicle was being carried on the truck.
