Five Rescued from Broken Boat Off the Coast of Ayia Napa
Authorities rescued five individuals stranded on a broken boat near the shores of Ayia Napa.
According to the police press office, the incident occurred on Thursday at around 7:30 PM. The captain of a vessel anchored in the waters of free Famagusta contacted the Paralimni naval base, requesting assistance from the port and maritime police. He reported that he and four passengers had set out for Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa using a second auxiliary boat. However, while returning to the moored vessel, the auxiliary boat broke down and became stranded at sea.
Coast guard and maritime police officers who responded to the emergency located the five individuals around 8:15 PM near Nissi Beach. Fortunately, all were safely transported back to the anchored vessel by the rescue team.
