16-Year-Old Arrested for Stealing and Setting Fire to Scooter in Nicosia
A 16-year-old teenager has been arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of stealing and setting fire to a scooter.
According to the police, the teen was detained yesterday afternoon following a court-issued warrant, part of the investigation into a scooter arson case that occurred on March 31 in the Nicosia district.
The investigation suggests that at around 6 a.m. that day, a burning scooter was spotted on an open plot of land in one of the villages in the Nicosia area. Upon examining the scene, fire service and police officers determined that the fire had been deliberately set. They also confirmed that the scooter had been stolen earlier that night in the Agios Dometios area of Nicosia.
After his arrest and questioning, the 16-year-old was formally charged and released. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
