Greek Edition of Book on Cypriot Social History to be Presented in Nicosia
The Cyprus Research Centre under the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth will host the presentation of the Greek edition of historian Rolandos Katsiaounis' book, "Labour, Society and Politics in Cyprus during the Second Half of the Nineteenth Century," on February 25.
The publication is part of the Sources and Studies of Cypriot History (XCVII) series and is considered one of the key works on the social and economic history of Cyprus.
Based on the author's doctoral research, the work analyzes the island's transition from the decline of the late Ottoman period to British colonial rule, focusing on economic changes and social conflicts. It highlights the daily lives of farmers, workers, and small traders, drawing on extensive archival and primary source materials.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Prometheus Research Institute, will take place at 19:00 at the Journalist's House in Nicosia.
