Nicosia Police Investigate Illegal Animal Slaughter
The Nicosia police are investigating an illegal animal slaughter case after 15 carcasses of sheep and goats, lacking identification marks, were discovered in the city.
According to the police press office, the carcasses of the slaughtered animals, which were missing required markings, were found on Tuesday by personnel from the Veterinary Service.
As part of the investigation into the illegal slaughter, the Veterinary Service, in collaboration with the police, conducted an inspection of the property in the area where the animal bodies were discovered.
"During the inspection, 15 slaughtered sheep and goats without the necessary markings were found," the police statement read.
The absence of proper markings may indicate violations of sanitary regulations, livestock management rules, and illegal slaughter practices.
The Latsia police station is leading the investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging the public to report any information that could aid in the investigation and help prevent such incidents in the future.
