Neighbor in Nicosia Shoots Pit Bull That Attacked Its Owner
In Nicosia, a pit bull attacked its owner, leading to the dog being shot by a nearby neighbor.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 8:00 p.m. The 61-year-old owner was sitting in his garden in the Nicosia suburb of Ayios Dhometios when his pit bull suddenly turned aggressive and attacked him.
A 78-year-old neighbor, who was nearby, attempted to help by using water from a hose to deter the dog. When this method proved ineffective, the neighbor retrieved a gun and shot the aggressive animal.
The pit bull owner is currently receiving treatment at Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors have diagnosed him with an injury to his left arm.
