Mediterranean Women's Conference Launches in Nicosia
The Women4Mediterranean Conference will kick off in Nicosia on Thursday. Participants will delve into discussions on women's financial empowerment, gender equality, climate change, violence against women, and media challenges.
This conference serves as a platform for deliberating and endorsing a "roadmap" for 2024–2025 — a strategic initiative aimed at implementing the Ministerial Declaration of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) to enhance the role of women in society.
Organized by the UfM and the Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality, delegates will include ministers, government officials, and representatives from various organizations.
The opening session will feature UfM Secretary-General Nasser Kamel, Minister of Internal Affairs Constantinos Kompos, and Commissioner for Gender Equality Josie Christodoulou.
