Seven 'Green Points' Suspended in Larnaca District Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease
In Larnaca, the operation of all seven 'Green Points' (waste collection sites) has been temporarily halted due to the situation surrounding foot-and-mouth disease cases in Livadia and Oroklini.
As reported by the Chairman of the Larnaca Regional Self-Government Organization, Angelos Hadjicharalambous, the decision was made as a precautionary measure. The relevant service has been instructed to suspend the facilities' operations pending an assessment of new data regarding the spread of the disease on livestock farms in these areas.
The operation of the sites will resume after the situation is reviewed by veterinary services and competent authorities.
