In Paphos, two people were injured in a fight over a like on social media
A mass brawl broke out in Paphos over a like on social media. Police are searching for three participants in the brawl.
According to the police press office, the fight occurred on Wednesday evening in the village of Kissonerga. As a result of the scuffle, two people were injured.
According to the head of the Paphos police operational department, Michalis Nicolaou, the reason for the conflict was a like that a 36-year-old man gave to a post by a 24-year-old young man on social media. Offended by this reaction, the post author called three friends to seek revenge on the offender.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police found that both the post author and the person who had liked the post were injured during the fight. Both of them sustained various injuries. The 36-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the 24-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. The other three participants in the brawl managed to escape before the police arrived.
The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
