A concert will be held in Paphos to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer and pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff. The performance will take place on March 1st at the Markideio Municipal Theater.
The concert is organized by the Petrideio Charitable Foundation in collaboration with the Paphos Music School.
The concert will feature a chamber ensemble, violinists and pianists, as well as the symphony orchestra of the Paphos Music School.
"Sergei Rachmaninoff is a great composer and pianist who created a portrait of a person tormented by longing for a lost homeland, and a genius under the sway of nostalgia for a lost world," said the president of the foundation, Michalis Maratheftis.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, the concert will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of the foundation's establishment.
