Ten Holders of Cypriot Passports Make it to Forbes 2024 Billionaires List

Ten holders of Cypriot passports have made it to Forbes' list of the world's billionaires for 2024. Among the Cypriots listed by the publication are former Russian billionaires Sergey Dmitriev, Valentin Kipyatkov, Igor Makarov, and Vladimir Krupchak.

The highest-ranking Cypriot on the Forbes list is Vinod Adani. With a fortune of $23 billion, he occupies the 88th position. The 75-year-old businessman resides in Dubai but holds Cypriot citizenship.

Next is shipping industry representative John Fredriksen. The fortune of the 79-year-old businessman, who resides in London, is estimated at $16.9 billion. According to Forbes, his empire includes oil tankers, bulk carriers, and deepwater drilling rigs.

The list also includes several former Russian billionaires who now represent Cyprus: Sergey Dmitriev ($2.9 billion), Valentin Kipyatkov ($2.1 billion), Igor Makarov ($2.1 billion), and Vladimir Krupchak ($1.2 billion).

Among other holders of Cypriot passports on the list are members of the Hadji-Ioannou family - Polis, Stelios, and Clelia, whose main asset is the low-cost airline EasyJet, as well as Israeli businessman Yakir Gabay.

It is also worth noting that the number of Russian billionaires in the global Forbes ranking has increased from 110 to 125 individuals over the year, setting a record in the history of the ranking.

For the first time, the wealthiest Russian businessman is the co-owner of the oil company "Lukoil," Vagit Alekperov, whose fortune Forbes has estimated at $28.6 billion.
