Citizen Service Centers in Cyprus will start issuing registration certificates to EU residents
In the first half of 2024, Citizen Service Centers in the Republic of Cyprus (KEP) will begin accepting documents for the renewal of work visas for talents from third countries and issuing registration certificates for EU citizens.
Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation Filippos Hadjizacharias shared details about the second stage of digitizing the appointment booking process in Citizen Service Centers, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
Once the process is completed, KEP will offer several new immigration-related services, including:
- Submission of applications for the renewal of residence permits and work permits for employees of companies with foreign interests.
- Issuance of registration certificates for EU citizens.
- Acceptance of applications for the replacement of residence and permanent residence documents for citizens of the United Kingdom.
In the initial stage, center staff will serve citizens from third countries who wish to extend the validity of residence permits in Cyprus and work in companies with foreign interests.
The Population and Immigration Department will soon commence training for KEP staff, followed by the installation of necessary systems and equipment.
Additionally, citizens will be able to apply for social insurance certificates, certificates of service from the Social Benefits Administration Service, and student sponsorship certificates through teleconferencing.
It is noteworthy that there are nine Citizen Service Centers operating in the Republic of Cyprus, with two in Nicosia and one each in Limassol, Kolossi, Paphos, Larnaca, Deryneia, Polis, and Pegeia.
Residence permits for citizens from third countries and family members of EU citizens will continue to be processed at the Migration Department in Nicosia and the immigration offices in Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, and the free territories of Famagusta.
