Mass Brawl Breaks Out in Central Larnaca

A violent street fight erupted late last night in Larnaca, involving at least ten young men on one of the city’s busiest streets.

What Happened?

According to police reports, the altercation broke out around 10:00 PM on Wednesday along Makariou Avenue, with two groups of young men clashing in the middle of the road. The incident was caught on video and shared on social media by ELAM MP Sotiris, showing the men throwing punches and grappling with each other while startled bystanders looked on. Passing cars had to swerve around the fight as the chaos unfolded.

The MP claimed that this was not the first time groups of young people had caused trouble and damaged property in Larnaca.

Police Response

Authorities say the individuals involved were of Arab origin. Multiple police patrols were dispatched to the scene, but by the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled in different directions.

So far, none of those involved have come forward to file a complaint or seek medical attention.

Ongoing Investigation

Police are now reviewing CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to identify those responsible for the brawl.
