German Tourist Injured in Avakas Gorge
A German tourist was injured while hiking through Avakas Gorge this past weekend. She was unable to get to the surface on her own due to the injury.
According to the police press office, an emergency call was received at around 3:30 PM. The tourist lost her balance and fell, sustaining injuries that prevented her from climbing back up. Authorities, including the police and fire services, responded to the scene. They located the injured woman and managed to bring her to the surface.
The tourist was then transported by ambulance to the emergency department of the general hospital in Paphos, where she was diagnosed with an ankle injury.
After receiving medical treatment, she was discharged from the hospital.
