THE UNITED KINGDOM LEADS IN THE NUMBER OF TOURISTS IN CYPRUS IN 2023
According to a report published on Friday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), the number of tourists arriving in Cyprus for the first ten months of 2023 increased by 21.1 percent compared to the previous year. In October, tourists from the United Kingdom were the leaders in terms of the number of visitors.
According to the report, from January to October 2023, the total number of tourists in Cyprus reached 3,562,417 people. For comparison, during the same period in 2022, the country welcomed 2,941,182 visitors.
In October 2023, the number of tourists reached 426,272, which is 6.4% more than in October of the previous year (400,628 people).
The report emphasizes that the highest number of tourists in October 2023 arrived in Cyprus from the United Kingdom - 154,373 people, or 36.2% of the total number of visitors.
Germany ranked second with 7.1% (30,178 people), and Poland closed the top three leading countries with 6.7% (28,649) of the total number of travelers.
It is also noted that in October 2023, 82.5% of visitors were on vacation in Cyprus, 10.9% visited friends or relatives, and 6.4% traveled for business.
