In one day, Cyprus police arrested 21 foreign nationals who were residing illegally in the country
Last Sunday, the Republic of Cyprus police continued their efforts to identify third-country nationals who were illegally residing in the country. 21 individuals were detained.
A joint operation, coordinated with the Migration Department and the Committee for the Control of Migrant Flows, took place in Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m.
During the raid, the documents of a large number of foreign nationals residing on the island were checked. Problems were identified with the documentation of 21 individuals. All detainees were taken to the Menoya detention center, where the repatriation procedure began.
It is worth noting that according to police data, a total of 2475 people who were illegally residing on the island have been repatriated since the beginning of this year.
