Major Pipeline Burst Leaves Several Cyprus Districts Without Water
Several areas in Cyprus have been left without water since yesterday due to a major rupture in the island’s main water pipeline.
The most severely affected regions include Paphos, Akamas, Chlorakas, and Lempa.
According to the Water Development Department, the break occurred deep underground, making repair work especially challenging and time-consuming.
The leak is believed to have happened north of Geroskipou, triggered by the collapse of a steep embankment beneath which the pipeline runs.
Authorities have assured the public that water supply will be fully restored by the end of the day.
