Expensive purchases - can you get Tax free if you are a foreigner but live in Cyprus?

Provided you are not a resident of an EU country and it has not been three months since the purchase, you can get Tax free when you leave the country. According to the rules, the goods must be packed. Therefore, if you have bought a phone or laptop and you want to get your tax payment back, you cannot unpack the devices. Although there are cases that the tax was refunded with damaged packaging, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
