The Cyprus Museum of Modern Art is located on the campus of Near East University in Nicosia. It is a full-fledged museum complex that operates separately from the academic buildings and welcomes regular visitors.

The museum was founded on August 9, 2018. It was created as a major museum of modern art in the region, with infrastructure for permanent and temporary exhibitions, restoration, collection storage, conferences, and cultural events.

The museum is located on the university campus near other Near East University facilities, including the Cyprus Museum of Classic Cars. Therefore, both museums are convenient to visit on the same day.

Museum of Modern Art Halls

The six-storey museum complex consists of 14 halls and a foyer designed for approximately 1,300 people. Inside there are permanent and temporary exhibitions, separate halls for photography and sculpture, as well as spaces for events.

The exhibition at NEU

The museum collection includes more than 8,000 works of art created from the 1940s to the present day. The exhibition features painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, models, decorative objects, and works in mixed media.

The core of the collection consists of works by artists from 14 Turkic countries and communities. According to Near East University, the museum brings together the works of around 3,000 artists. Most of the collection is kept in specially equipped storage areas to protect the artworks.
