Four Livestock Farmers Paid Over 3.6 Million Lira in Compensation Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease
Four producers who suffered losses due to foot-and-mouth disease in their livestock have been compensated for 81 head of cattle in the total amount of 3,603,300 Turkish lira.
According to the General Agricultural Insurance Fund, the payments were made within the framework of the Mandatory Livestock Insurance Regulation. Compensation statements for January related to damage caused by foot-and-mouth disease have already been prepared.
Affected farmers can collect their checks from the Fund upon presentation of an identity document.
The agency emphasized that the mandatory insurance mechanism allows for prompt compensation to farmers in the event of the spread of infectious diseases among animals.
