Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman has reaffirmed that he will continue to pursue a course towards a diplomatic solution to problems and the development of international contacts. In his statement, he emphasized that all key promises made before and after the presidential elections remain in force.

According to Erhürman, his administration intends to seek a settlement of the Cyprus issue "in accordance with the will of the people" and through diplomacy, dialogue, and confidence-building measures. He also stated the need to protect the rights of Turkish Cypriots and to overcome international isolation.

Erhürman paid special attention to relations with Turkey. According to him, cooperation with Ankara should be built "on the right basis" and through continuous dialogue. At the same time, he stressed that the leadership does not intend to distance itself from the internal problems of society, even if the president's powers are limited.

The politician noted that during the seven months of work, steps were taken to expand international contacts. As an example, he cited participation in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Kazakhstan, where the Turkish Cypriot side was given the opportunity to attend as an observer and present its position for the first time.

Erhürman announced that contacts would continue not only with the Organization of Turkic States, but also with the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In conclusion, he emphasized that the leadership will continue to seek solutions "not through conflict, but through seriousness, patience, diplomacy, and dialogue."
