Famagusta to Be Without Water for Three Days
Famagusta is expected to experience a three-day water outage due to a major infrastructure failure. Municipal teams have already begun repair efforts to resolve the issue.
According to local authorities, the problem occurred on the main water pipeline between Famagusta and İskele, which delivers water to the city from the Geçitköy Dam.
“In light of the damage to the main water line between Famagusta and İskele, water supply to the city will be interrupted for the next three days,” the municipality said in an official statement.
Residents are being urged to use water as sparingly as possible during this time to help reduce inconvenience while the repairs are carried out.
Officials from the Water Department, part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, have dispatched crews to the scene and are working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.
