The Municipality of Kyrenia and the Municipality of Düzce have officially established a sister city partnership through the signing of a cooperation protocol. The agreement sets the stage for collaborative initiatives in tourism, industry, and agriculture.

The signing ceremony was held at the Culinary Arts Center in Düzce and attended by Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul, members of the municipal council, and Düzce Governor Selçuk Aslan.

Following the ceremony, the delegation from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) toured various sites in Düzce and paid a visit to the governor's residence.

This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration by fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two cities, with a strong focus on tourism, agriculture, and industry. Additionally, the agreement is designed to promote cultural connections and facilitate joint projects that benefit both communities.

Düzce is a city located in northwestern Turkey, serving as the administrative hub of Düzce Province. It lies 240 km west of Ankara and 228 km east of Istanbul.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality recently renewed its sister city agreement with the Mezitli district in Mersin.
