Northern Cypriot culture becomes a highlight of the Izmir festival
Festive spring events organized by the Izmir Municipality and TÜRKSOY took place in Izmir.
Representatives from the Turkic world participated in the festival. The Northern Cyprus stand and the folk dance performance drew particular attention.
The TRNC stand, prepared with the participation of the Consulate General in Izmir and the cultural association, was very popular with visitors. Guests were presented with traditional dishes, handmade crafts, and the island's tourist attractions.
A highlight was the performance by dancers from Famagusta, who performed traditional Cypriot dances to thunderous applause from the audience.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan also took part in the program. Festival guests participated in traditional rituals—from painting eggs to jumping over fire.
