İŞAD: KIB-TEK spends up to 350 million lira per month on salaries alone
The Chairman of the Business Association (İŞAD), Enver Mamüljü, stated that the financial structure of KIB-TEK in its current form is unsustainable. According to him, the company's monthly payroll expenses range from 300 to 350 million Turkish lira.
Mamüljü noted that the 50 highest salaries in the company reach 7,500–10,000 pounds sterling. Meanwhile, the private company AKSA, which supplies about 50% of the country’s electricity, receives approximately 450 million lira per month — covering all its operating costs.
“At KIB-TEK, the payroll alone is 300–350 million lira. Adding fuel, operational, and other costs makes the total significantly higher. All of this directly affects electricity tariffs,” he emphasized.
Mamüljü stated that high energy costs seriously impact both households and businesses. In his opinion, state-owned enterprises need to be freed from populist policies and reformed, including considering partial private management models.
He also warned that without radical solutions, within 10 years several state structures could be on the brink of collapse.
Separately, the head of İŞAD highlighted the need to develop fiber-optic infrastructure and digitalize public services. According to him, implementing e-gov and modernizing the internet network is crucial for attracting investments, increasing transparency, and fighting corruption.
