TRNC Team Triumphs at the 9th Turkish Mental Arithmetic Championship "Memoriad 2024"
The TRNC national team celebrated major success at the 9th Turkish Mental Arithmetic Championship, "Memoriad 2024." Young talents from Northern Cyprus won a total of six championship titles.
According to information from the TRNC Mega Mental Arithmetic team, the competition was last held in 2019, before being paused due to the pandemic. This year marked the tournament's return.
The TRNC team competed across five different age groups and brought home six trophies. Among the champions were seven-year-old Cesur Korkmaz, ten-year-old Nil Yusefinasab, and eleven-year-old Zalihe Sayin, who each won in their respective age categories. Twelve-year-old Mehmet Sayin took home the silver medal in his division.
The team’s most experienced member, thirteen-year-old Alisa Türel, not only won the championship in her age group but also claimed the Turkish Double Cup in the general classification. This remarkable performance brought six trophies back to Northern Cyprus.
In recognition of his role, youth coach Belgün Belevi received an honorary certificate as the coach of the TRNC team, which emerged victorious at the championship.
