TRNC Ministry of Transport Signs Contracts for Road Maintenance and Repairs
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has finalized contracts with companies that won tenders for road maintenance and repair projects. The agreements cover the Yonca–Junction–İskele road, Yılmazköy–Çamlıbel road, and the Ministries Road, as well as the procurement of 2,550 tons of asphalt to be distributed to municipalities.

According to the ministry, the contracts were signed by Minister Erhan Arıklı and the directors of the successful bidding companies.
Salih Köroğlu Ltd., which submitted the lowest bid, was awarded the contract for road construction. The company is set to begin maintenance and repair work on the Ministries Road this weekend, with all work expected to be completed within 90 calendar days.
The tender for the procurement of 2,550 tons of asphalt for municipal use was won by Güney İnşaat Ltd.
Minister Arıklı highlighted that despite a shortage of vehicles, equipment, and personnel, the Department of Highways has partnered with local authorities on numerous projects. To enhance service quality and improve road safety for the public, the ministry decided to supply asphalt directly to municipalities.
Under the contracts, a total of 3,380 tons of asphalt will be utilized for road maintenance and repair works throughout the TRNC.
