Traffic light system testing begins at the Bahçeler junction on the Iskele–Çayırova road
On October 22, the Directorate of Highways announced that the installation of a traffic light system at the Bahçeler junction on the Iskele–Çayırova road has been completed and the system has been launched in test mode.
The Directorate’s statement noted that the system is currently operating in a trial phase. Installation work has been completed, and the system is running to verify its operation and coordinate the timing sequences.
The authority urged drivers using this section of the road to exercise caution and reduce their speed. Motorists were advised to strictly follow the traffic light signals during the testing period.
The Directorate emphasized that compliance with traffic rules in the area where the new system is operating is essential to ensure the safety of life and the protection of property. For residents and drivers in Northern Cyprus, this means a change in traffic conditions at the specified section and the need to pay attention to the new traffic control measures.
