In Northern Cyprus, deputies played football with the women's national team
The parliamentary football team of the Assembly and the women's national football team of the TRNC held an exhibition friendly match. The game between parliament members and female footballers was the first in history.
Before the match, which took place on March 8, International Women's Day, male and female parliament members, as well as national team players, unveiled a banner with the inscription "Everything in the world is done by women's hands" and took a commemorative photo.
The pre-match ceremony took place at the Atatürk Stadium in Nicosia. Medals were awarded to the footballers and referees during the ceremony. The match itself was also officiated by a quartet of female referees.
The outcome of the football match between the deputies and professional footballers is not reported. After the game, all participants were presented with commemorative prizes and medals.
